A Chain of Events

Then my Mom got sick and suddenly and I had to go back to Poland to help her. I don't know why, but I took the book with me. I did not read it on the plane, but I took it out of my luggage and it sat in the room where I slept while visiting my Mom. Now, surprisingly, the whole ordeal of her sickness was easy for me to handle, and she is in a great place now, considering what could have happened. And curiously, today, I know for a fact the reason for it!

The Spiritual Teacher who wrote the book, Avatar Adi Da Samraj was always there already, helping me through the crisis. Let me explain: On my way back from Poland, I finally opened the book and almost finished the whole thing during the 9 hour flight. I could not put it down. I did not understand much of about Eastern Ways and gurus, and yet, I was strongly attracted to Him instantly, apparently for no reason.

Immediately after I finished the book, I called the number in California and asked them to suggest another book to read. They recommended "The Dawn Horse Testament," a very big, serious hard cover work. It looked like a huge white bible! I had to learn more. It was in very esoteric language. I took it with me on holiday to Florida and every morning in my bikini, I took it to the beach with me! My friends were all drinking and having fun but I was studying. When they asked me what I was reading, I told them and I have no idea what they made of me. I didn't understand half of it, but I couldn't put it down because it was so interesting!

Now I know that it was Avatar Adi Da's Spiritual Energy that attracted me. How else could I have stayed with it? Even now, after several years of practice, I can only go through a page or two at a time, it is so profound and so thick with dharma (spiritual teaching). I felt I shouldn't be drinking with my friends, so I didn't. I was already trying to conform my life to Avatar Adi Da. I already knew in my heart that this was going to be my new path.

On returning home, I contacted Adidam Toronto and met some Canadian devotees. Lynnzee had gone back to Northern California where Adidam's main sanctuary, The Mountain of Attention is located. I studied Avatar Adi Da's Teaching Word and not long afterwards, took the Adidam Student Novice course, becoming a devotee in June of that same year, 2003.

Last Words

That was 7 years ago, but it's the same for me now as it was from the moment I first saw Avatar Adi Da's photograph! Back then, I knew I wanted to see the Divine Avatar. I knew you had to be serious about spiritual practice to be allowed to see him. Several years later, He came to the Mountain of Attention Sanctuary in Northern California. And when I found out, I said right away, "I'm coming!" There was no question about it.

While on retreat there, I saw Adi Da in person and when I did, all my doubts and fears arose. In fact, my whole life went by me while He stood there, clearly in a state that was prior to and beyond everything else. I was so happy to be there! No matter how much I was confronted, I never wanted to leave! And that's It! Everything! I've never looked back.

What Adi Da presents is "a comprehensive system of unique books, that will, if rightly and consistently used, enable your investigation of Reality and Truth to be truly effective and successful" in relationship to a Supreme Master. There is no greater gift than this!
